We want to introduce more people to the sport of adventure racing and to  encourage all those, especially those that may feel it's out of reach, to come have fun and Race the CAT!

Just before the start, inaugural year

We are  Michelle McShane & Tammie Stanton, two moms who have been racing over the last 15 years. Between us, we have raced over 50 races (ranging from running races, triathlons, MTB races and adventure racing) and have raced over 1500km combined.

Tammie has been a Certified Personal Trainer since 2007 and has owned her own studio north of Kingston since 2008. As an athletic minded person from childhood, it was a natural progression for her to get into racing in her adult years to keep fit, motivated and release those competitive juices. Competing in everything from 5k's to triathlons, and in recent years Adventure Racing, with two Gold medals in 2014 as a co-ed team with her husband (an avid mountain biker and Level 1 PMBI instructor) With their 4 children and running a studio, life is busy, but there is always time to train and race.

Michelle McShane competed in her first race, the Kingston Triathlon in 2008, and was hooked the moment she crossed the finish line. She discovered Adventure Racing the following year, and has competed in multiple races every year since, including Wilderness Traverse (a 24-30 hour race) three years in a row.  After years as an outdoor educator and wilderness guide, Michelle found a "day job" at Trailhead, a local outdoor store, as a buyer, paddling instructor and event planner.  With her love of racing, and getting people outside, directing an adventure race seemed like a natural progression. Raising her two boys with her husband in the country north of Kingston, she is passing on her spirit of adventure and respect of the environment.
